Explosive Vision

Black Iris proudly presents its second exhibition: EXPLOSIVE VISION, featuring Gunilla Klingberg, Johan Thurfjell, Matthias van Arkel, Maria Nordin, Stefan Otto, Anneè Olofsson, Juan Pedro Fabra Guemberena, Anna Camner, Ulrika Sparre, Marcus Mårtenson, Julia Peirone, and Éva Mag.

EXPLOSIVE VISION takes place at the historic Gasverket in Stockholm, Sweden, a venue of social and historical significance, inviting visitors to embark on a journey where the past and the present intertwine. In the past, it served as a gathering place where Stockholmers collected their gas tokens. Today, Black Iris merges the venue's history with the contemporary art scene, creating a bright collision between the old and the new.

The exhibition juxtaposes Black Iris' wide-open pupil with the worn-down Gas House, creating an explosive fusion of artistic expressions. The contemporary artworks project a forward-looking vision, engaging in a dynamic energy that resonates with the spectacular surroundings. The Gasverket, designed by Ferdinand Boberg, stands frozen in time, providing a remarkable backdrop for this innovative dialogue between art and history.

Black Iris was founded in 2022 by Anna and Mattias Camner as a complement to the galleries. Black Iris aims to strengthen the artist’s position and create new synergies and powerful collaborations.
